Uses of Dapsone (GSK) 50 mg Tablet
What is it prescribed for?
- Leprosy
This medicine is used to treat leprosy, a long-term infection caused by Mycobacterium leprae or Mycobacterium lepromatosis, characterized by the loss of parts of extremities due to repeated injuries or unnoticed wounds. This medicine is used in combination with rifampicin and clofazimine to treat leprosy.
- Dermatitis herpetiformis
This medicine may be used to treat dermatitis herpetiformis, a chronic blistering skin condition characterized by blisters filled with watery fluid and intense itching. With this treatment, the itching is reduced within 2-3 days.
