This medicine is used for the treatment of tonic-clonic (grand mal) and psychomotor (temporal lobe) seizures (a brain disorder characterized by uncontrolled jerking movements and loss of consciousness). It is also used to control and/or prevent seizures that may occur during or after brain surgeries or severe head injuries
