Uses of CPZ (AN Pharmacia) 100 mg Tablet

What is it prescribed for?

• Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that is characterised by disturbed thinking, emotions, perception of reality, language, sense of self, and behaviour. CPZ (AN Pharmacia) 100 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of schizophrenia.

• Nausea and vomiting

CPZ (AN Pharmacia) 100 mg Tablet is used to control nausea and vomiting in terminal illness (10 to 25mg when other drugs have failed or are not available).

• Intractable Hiccups

Intractable hiccups are hiccups lasting longer than one month. CPZ (AN Pharmacia) 100 mg Tablet is used to control prolonged periods of hiccups, at a dose of 25 to 50mg.

• Porphyria

Porphyria is the build-up of a substance called porphyrin in the body that mainly affects the skin or nervous system. CPZ (AN Pharmacia) 100 mg Tablet is used to control symptoms of acute intermittent porphyria such as abdominal pain and nervousness, at a dose of 25 to 50mg.

• Psychiatric disorders

CPZ (AN Pharmacia) 100 mg Tablet is also used for the treatment of other mental conditions such as paranoia (perception or suspicion often related to persecution, threat, or conspiracy), mania (abnormally and persistently overactive behaviour and extreme changes in mood or emotions), and hypomania (increased energy and excitability).
