Uses

·  Pneumocystis Jiroveci Pneumonia

This medicine is used for the treatment and prevention of pneumonia caused by Pneumocystis jiroveci which mainly occur among immunocompromised patients.

 

·  Toxoplasmosis

This medicine is used to treat toxoplasmosis which is characterized by symptoms like muscle pain, fever, and headache. It is also used as a prophylactic treatment for toxoplasmosis.

 

·  Nocardiosis

This medicine is used to treat nocardiosis, a bacterial infection caused by Nocardia species which affects either the lungs or the whole body.

 

·  Acute uncomplicated urinary tract infection (UTI)

This medicine is used to treat acute uncomplicated urinary tract infection caused by bacterias.

 

·  Acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis

This medicine is used for the treatment of acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, a condition characterized by sudden worsening of chronic symptoms such as a cough, shortness of breath, wheezing, etc. associated with chronic bronchitis due to susceptible strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae or Haemophilus influenzae.

 

·  Acute otitis media

This medicine is used in the treatment of otitis media caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

 

·  Traveler's Diarrhea

This medicine is used for the treatment of Traveler's Diarrhea caused by susceptible strains of E.coli.

·  Granuloma inguinale

This medicine is used in the treatment of granuloma inguinale, a bacterial infection caused by Klebsiella granulomatis characterized by lesions in the anal and genital regions.

·  Chancroid

This medicine is used in the treatment of chancroid infection, a sexually transmitted bacterial infection caused by Haemophilus ducreyi
